Martin McDonald is the Operations Director for Delta Energy Services (DES). Based out of our UK office, his remit is to look after our worldwide operations, visiting and liaising in country with both our office teams and our clients to ensure the services we provide are the best they can be.
Martin has been with the company for as long as anyone can remember, starting off his time with DES as an Oil & Gas Recruiter out of the Stavanger, Norway office. Martin is married, has three daughters and one granddaughter with another grandchild on the way, due later this year. All of us here at DES wish him and the family all the best for that……..however, it must be told, Martin has a secret!!!!!!
It would seem that in his spare time, Martin likes to tear up the tarmac on his race prepared Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. With quick action throttle, quick-shifter, traction control and an engine giving 186bhp, plus famous tracks in the UK such as Donington and Silverstone, it’s not difficult to find Big Mart out and about reaching speeds of 170mph (270kph) in the quest to reduce his lap times. We all think Valentino Rossi’s job in MotoGP is safe for now!
You may recall in 2013, as DES was celebrating its 25th year of operation that we sponsored Bruce Smart of Teapotone. Bruce was riding around the world on his Suzuki GXR1000 sports bike to raise money for a number of charities. Bruce did over 74,000 miles (118,000km), visited over 70 countries, and was away from home, his family and his job, as an armed protection officer at Downing Street in London for over 12 months. Bruce’s story and our part in it, can be found at www.teapotone.com Live your Life!
How time flies…..2018 will see Delta Energy Services celebrate another milestone in its history through achieving 30 years in business 1988 – 2018. Supplying Technical Manpower and Vendor Inspection services to a growing number of industries through our office network in USA, Norway, UK, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia, Korea and Australia, we remain focused on our customers and our personnel to ensure we do our best for both.
As part of our celebrations to mark this significant occasion, we are redesigning Martin’s Honda Fireblade from the current Castrol livery to carry the Delta brand & logo and we have asked him to give regular feedback via our website on his track days in 2017 and 2018 in his quest to reach the that elusive fast time! Please keep an eye out for new pictures and videos over the next few months and beyond….
